I dream of
A Better Kenya

Comrades, let’s join hands in this loud and defiant march into history as we create new Kenya – a Kenya of joy, love, laughter, justice and dignity.

1

Universal Healthcare

We will ensure that all Kenyans receive free healthcare when ill, and put particular emphasis on preventive healthcare so as to save our country precious resources that can be redirected to construction of more health facilities, or better training and pay of healthcare professionals.

2

Quality Education for all

We will work to improve the existing curricula so as to take into account the needs of our country in the 21st Century, and impart skills that can push Kenya into a state-led industrialization phase that is anchored on equality and freedom.

3

Opportunities for all

We will further create an enabling environment for the informal sector, and small and micro-enterprises to thrive so they can contribute to solving the unemployment menace that we have as a country.

4

Decolonisation

The KLA will engage in a process of decolonisation that seeks to ‘re-africanise the African’ so that our people can not only learn to love themselves again, but also arrive at a better understanding of systems of oppression, elect progressive and ideologically grounded leadership, and collectively uproot various systems of oppression and colonial hangovers.

Media

A conversation on Power Radio between host Anne Wanyoike and political activist Sungu Sungu regarding his 2027 presidential bid and the current state of Kenya.

Representing the Kenya Left Alliance, Sungu critiques the current regime for systemic failures, highlighted by a 67.7% youth unemployment rate and a crushing 71% debt-to-GDP ratio that paralyzes public services like healthcare and education. He argues that the slogan “R must go” represents a necessary overhaul of oppressive, neocolonial government structures rather than just the removal of an individual.

Blending his political ambitions with artistry, Sungu discusses his poetry collection, Abolish Everything, asserting that art must reject neutrality and help citizens imagine and fight for true national sovereignty, justice, and dignity at the ballot box in August 2027.

Mashujaa Day Message

On this Mashujaa day, I celebrate our Gen-Z – this generation that birthed a political process that fundamentally changed the Kenyan political landscape in 2024.

I also celebrate the generations that came before us; they not only spoke truth to power, but also pushed back against the excesses of unjust power. Nyinyi nyote ni mashujaa!

As my comrades always remind us, “We stand not only on the shoulders of those who came before us, but also on the graves of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice”. We remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. All of them!
